I am from Alaska, where cooler bags aren't used as often. I heard about Opah from a few friends that do salmon charters and knew I needed to give one a shot. The Fathom 4 makes Salmon fishing on my small boat so convenient. I can take the bag and put it right in my SUV without worrying about leaking. Ice lasts FOREVER! Awesome product!
Review
Bag looks and feels like high quality, with extra features, like straps and pockets that will be useful. Only complaint is should the bag tip over (unlikely due to flat bottom), it leaks like a siv at the zipper ends.
So, don't fill with water and store it upside down. This will replace my cooler on the boat, and should last many years.
I think it is better construction, insulation and design than my Reliable, which is also a great bag .
Four stars only due to way zipper is attached /sealed on the corners.
This thing is extremely well built. I have several other bags from other companies and will be selling them to buy more Opah bags.
I am new to PWC fishing and recently purchased the Fathom 4 to carry on the back of my Fish Pro Trophy. I had been trying to decide between Opah Gear or another manufacturer. After reading the reviews, the insulation thickness and the fact Opah is handmade, I was sold on Opah. When I received my Fathom 4 I was absolutely blown away at the quality. This is a very well made kill bag! Between the insulation, the drain plug, and the heavy duty carry handles this thing is an absolute beast. I am sure this bag will last me quite a while.
Well, it’s hard to put a good review out as of yet because the bag I received had leaks in the seams. I had to send it back and I’m currently waiting for a replacement.. Hopefully the next one doesn’t leak!
